Truck and TRAX Train Collide in Salt Lake City

February 13, 2026 – per KSL NewsRadio – A tragic collision occurred in Salt Lake City when a truck and a Utah Transit Authority (UTA) TRAX train collided. The incident resulted in at least one fatality and significant disruptions to TRAX services. Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the crashes.

Truck-Train Collision

A TRAX train collided with a truck carrying four people. According to UTA spokesperson Gavin Gustafson, the incident occurred on North Temple when the truck allegedly turned left in front of the westbound train.

One person in the truck sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. No one on the TRAX train was injured. This collision caused a 15- to 20-minute delay for Green Line riders. The crash is currently under investigation.

Service Disruptions

Both incidents caused significant disruptions for TRAX riders. The February 13th collision caused significant delays on the Green Line. In a separate incident on the same day, a car-train crash on Main Street in downtown Salt Lake City caused significant delays across all TRAX lines, including the Blue, Red, and Green.

A bus bridge was implemented to assist passengers between Gallivan Plaza and Ballpark stations downtown. UTA advised passengers to expect continued significant delays across all lines.
