The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. near 3390 South State Street, leading to the closure of the roadway for several hours as authorities investigated.

The collision occurred when the driver of a Chevrolet Tahoe pulled out of the Chinatown parking lot and into the path of a southbound motorcyclist. The impact caused the motorcyclist, a woman in her 30s, to be ejected from her bike. South Salt Lake Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene and provided aid to the injured rider.
Medical Condition and Investigation
The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital with critical but stable injuries.
